In this 90-minute workshop, Josh will go over the keys to responding effectively to acute and chronic pain and injury. Additionally, the prevention or risk management around injury will be part of the process, and each phase will have a distinct protocol that will help to prevent the onset of these syndromes and imbalances.)
We will spend roughly 25 minutes on anatomy and physiology, covering how the body's systems go through a physical trauma of soft and hard tissues, and how they recover. We will talk about how the body's quest for balance can help us heal injuries (or create them, if we are not intentional). How muscle is built, and how movement that is healing can become a muscle building practice with a little tweaking.
We will spend roughly 30 minutes on exercise demos around mobility, increasing bloodflow and decreasing resting tension on afflicted joints. I will encourage people to participate so that they can reveal where their skills and imbalances lie.
The final 25 minutes will be on Q&A where I will give them a beginner program, and answer all their exercise-specific or body-specific questions.
What you will get:
- A beginner program for recovery and muscle building
- A quick mobility assessment and what that means for their own body
- A presentation on functional anatomy that will empower them to trust the messages their body is giving them
